FZR High Performance ECU Reprogramming Services

R&D is proud to announce the soon to be released Yamaha FZR and SHO ECU reprogramming services. There has been a year of speculation and long awaited anticipation of these services becoming available. The research and development team at R&D have been testing and developing ECU programs to allow a range of performance levels to be reached for the recreational enthusiasts who are not interested in a full standalone aftermarket ECU. Entry-level programs will provide the enjoyment of a raised RPM limit setting as well as the internal boost limiter being either removed or raised. Ignition timing will be altered to safe performance levels that will allow the use of 91 octane pump gasoline. There will be several initial performance levels to chose from that will work with stock or R&D C1 and C3 Monster Wheels. Programs offered will be recreational performance tuned to safe AFR values, and can be further custom tuned (Richened) to accommodate additional boost levels. With the purchase of the R&D ECU Reprogramming Service, customers who have previously purchased an R&D Powershot Fuel Control Unit can send it in along with their ECU to R&D for free re-programming, to allow custom fuel tuning to work with the new ECU Programs. R&D Powershot Fuel Control Units will not be required on base entry programs. However, we recommend upgrading and using the Powershot for custom fuel fine-tuning. Fuel tuning or AFR conditions should always be checked and verified, as values can be slightly different from one craft to another. Higher performing programs are also under development and will be announced through updates on the R&D website. Stay tuned. R&D strongly suggests that AFR tuning be periodically verified using an Innovate LM1 or LC1 logging kit also available from R&D.

det är ingen ny box utan du måste skicka in din befintliga ECU
för Chippning typ.dom har inte släppt pris på det änn.
jag kommer testa att skicka in min! med powershoten så gör dom om den åxo så man kan fin trimma bränslet med den med.kommer bli kanon

ser onekligen ut som dom kommer ha 3st olika varvtalsstop beroende på setup!
Men klart intressant kontra eftermarknadsspruten som kostar därefter, ska bli intressant och se resultaten!

I spoke to Bill at R&D this morning and wanted to pass along some information I learned.


The R1 file was set up to run mainly stock, C1 and C3 compressor wheels.
Customers using the stock or C1 wheels can run 87 octane fuel.
R&D recommends 91 or 93 Octane to be used with the C3 and/or tall impellers running 8300-8400 RPM

The rev limiter on R1 has been raised slightly as it seems a lot of customers want to run at 8300 so the new rev limiter on R1 is 8450.

He said the R2 file is working extremely well and he mentioned that most guys who think they want the R3 will be very happy with the R2.
The R2 will be a great tune for some of the new wheels that are going to hit the market, or are already available now.

Bill predics that some guys will actually hit 85mph with the R2 file

R3 is a work in progress and R&D is going to recommend aviation fuel with the R3 and 15+ pounds of boost. R3 will be a great limited class race tune.
Customers will need a VERY GOOD prop, Skat pump system, pump conversion or twin prop to take control of cavitation with the R3.

so it looks like you can build a 80 mpH FZR for less then 25000 SEK
